Chinese New Year decorations at 1 Utama

Ah Loot and I decided to finally drag ourselves to 1 Utama to do some last minute Chinese New Year shopping.  We went there around noon and we were greeted by these two guys, I think they symbolise prosperity or something. Anyway, the whole place was practically flooded with the colour red. It’s a nice colour and it kind of lifts our spirits too. Many people were shopping for clothes and also decorations for the home.

This cat with its left paw swinging up and down is a common sight beside the cash register of many shops here. I was told the cat is gesturing  “money come, money come”. Although it looks like a cat, I think the one here is supposed to be a Tiger since this is the year of the Tiger.

    That “Money Cat” is soooo cute!! There’s a smaller version of it at Centrepoint. ^^

    @Melissa
    Yup, and there are a few of these Money Cat around the new wing of 1 Utama. The children all want to take photo with the cat. One kid was so irritating, kept hoarding the place and people had to wait until he went away before they could go take a photo.
