Some years ago, I was late for an appointment with a friend at 1 Utama. As soon as I had parked my car, I ran out of the parking lot and into the lift. Pressed “G” for ground floor and shot out of the lift like a speeding bullet to the appointed place. In my haste, I didn’t take note of my surroundings.
It was only when it was time to go home that I realised that I had no clue where I had parked my car! I remembered going into the lift but …. at which level? By then I started to panic as it was already 10 p.m. So, I had no choice but to walk around the parking lot at about two or three levels before I finally found my car. That was a very bad experience, I think I spent more than an hour walking around like a mad woman.
And then there was a time when I had inserted coins into a parking meter and gone shopping and totally forgotten how long I had parked my vehicle.
My friend, Helen gave me a parking timer recently (see picture above) which serves as an aid for remembering how long my vehicle has been parked. It also comes with a recording option for recording voice messages so that I can record the specific location where my vehicle is parked e.g. “Parking deck C, row B, bay 17″.
Well, with this parking timer, I hope I don’t forget where I parked my car. Actually, before I got this timer, I used my mobile phone to take a picture of the location of my parking lot. But it would not be able to tell me which level of the car park, though.
We were walking to the Kepong food court for dinner when we passed by the Wing Heong shop at Taman Usahawan Kepong. I used to buy the barbecued pork at their Jalan Imbi branch decades ago. So, was I surprised to find a branch here. So now I don’t have to travel all the way to Jalan Imbi if I have this sudden craving for barbecued pork.

We went into the shop just to have a look and were greeted by this cute poster at the meat counter. I don’t know what she’s saying though.

After looking around, Jo, Ah Loot and I decided to buy some of the barbecued meat, floss and also other tid-bits on sale like the “kacang tumbuk”, biscuits and peanuts.

Besides the barbecued pork and chicken, they also sell “Dollar Meat”. What is that??? I forgot to ask and I can’t read Mandarin, so maybe next time I go there, I’ll ask.
