Yesterday, an old girlfriend of ours, Lilian came to visit my mom in the hospital and then we went for lunch with her and her husband at Kopitiam. We had curry mee, penang prawn mee, Ipoh kway teow thng, toasted bread and french fries with white coffee and coke float. It’s been a long time since we met up because we are all working. But it was nice even though we could meet up over a meal and spend about three hours together. Friendships do last forever because even though we haven’t met up for some years, we are still able to carry on from where we left off.
At night we had dinner with another girlfriend, Woon and it was another round of women talk. Only women can chit chat for hours and never get tired of talking. Ah Loot cooked nasi briyani and “acar” with chicken. Delicious and yes, it is wonderful to have girlfriends!

This morning, we went for an Easter sunrise service at my church at 6 a.m.. The weather was cool and breezy as we had the service outdoors. It’s been ages since I woke up at such an unearthly hour and especially on a Sunday morning. There was hardly any traffic on the road and it was dark also.
It drizzled a bit but for the most part of the morning, it was nice and cool. We heard crackers because quite a number of people were at a cemetery nearby observing Qing Ming.

After the slight drizzle, a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky. Birds were flying around, chirping happily away.
Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!

Some meditations on Good Friday.
The First Word : Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.
The Second Word : I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.
The Third Word : Dear woman, here is your son.
The Fourth Word : My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
The Fifth Word : I am thirsty.
The Sixth Word : It is finished.
The Seventh Word : Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.
